Let us say that one took IB Physics SL, and proceeded to receive a not completely satisfactory score on the exam for various reasons (horrible teacher). And let us also say that the same student decided to re-take the SL level exam the following year without taking the course again.

Would the new score replace the old score entirely for better or for worse, or would the highest score reign?
